Pool deck coatings built for Texas sun, heat and heavy summer use.
Textured for increased slip resistance
In Central Texas the pool is where summer happens, and the deck around it takes months of intense sun, heat, splash-out and foot traffic. Bare concrete stains, fades and cracks as the ground moves. Checkmate Coatings puts down a textured polyaspartic flake system that’s slip resistant when wet, holds up to UV and feels good under bare feet. During the install we cover and protect the pool, fix cracks and coat the deck, steps and walkways as one continuous surface. From backyard pools in Hutto and Georgetown to Hill Country homes in Lakeway and Bee Cave, we’ll give your pool area a finished look that holds up to Texas summers. Pool decks are backed by our Stress-Free Warranty.
Your concrete pool decks deserve the protection and polish of a professionally installed coating system.
Central Texas pool decks get intense sun through a long summer, and UV breaks down paint and acrylic sealers until they fade and flake. Our UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat holds its color.
Ground movement from expansive clay soils is common across Williamson County and much of the Austin area, and it shows up as cracks in pool decks. We repair existing cracks before coating so the new surface starts on sound concrete.
Chlorine, salt systems, sunscreen and constant splash-out stain and wear bare concrete. The chemical-resistant topcoat keeps them on the surface, and the flake texture gives better footing when the deck is wet.
We install pool deck coatings throughout Williamson, Travis and Bastrop counties.
Including: Pflugerville, Taylor, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill, Jarrell, Austin, Manor, Lakeway, Bee Cave, Elgin and Bastrop.
Every pool deck coating project starts with floor prep done right. That includes:
With Checkmate Coatings, you’ll always get a seamless install, professional communication, and a crew that treats your space with respect.
Diamond grind the concrete to create the proper surface profile for maximum coating adhesion.
Repair cracks, pits, and surface imperfections prior to coating installation.
Apply a moisture-mitigating polyurea base coat designed for superior concrete bonding.
Install a full flake broadcast system for durability, texture, and complete coverage.
Apply a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat for long-term durability, chemical resistance, and easy maintenance.
The flake finish is comfortable for bare feet, and lighter color blends stay cooler in direct sun than dark ones. We’ll help you choose a blend for an uncovered deck.
Cracks get repaired during prep, and the flake finish hides the repairs in a uniform surface. On expansive clay, a slab that’s still moving can crack again, and we’ll point out any concerns during your estimate.
Spring, before pool season gets going, is the most popular time, but we coat decks most of the year. We’ll schedule around the weather and your plans.
We can coat any size space, but Checkmate Coatings does have a minimum square footage requirement to come out and do an installation. Combining spaces like your garage floor with the driveway or patio floor can together meet our square footage minimum. Please contact Checkmate to get an estimate and exact pricing.
