Josh17 September 2026Installers Mr. Jonah and Mr. Deon were easily the most professional individuals I've ever worked with. The install was on a Friday before a holiday weekend, so I did feel a little bad, however they were super motivated to get the job done. I had very few questions because by the time they were done walking through everything, I was blown away. They went over the science to what to expect, taking care of it, curing time - everything. They were so professional, even some of my neighbors came over to talk and ask them questions. The install took them around 4 hours, with a break for time to cure. I did have a last min request and wanted to change part of the install, and they had no issues calling their manager to see what our options were. Jonah and Deon deserve a raise and I recommend that team for any project that comes up. I want to circle back and not forget the saleswomen who I meet with, Mrs. Jeanne. I think she also showed up at the end of the day on a Friday (sorry) and walked me through everything. From color, to the process, and really wanted to know what my end goal was with this project. I had some complaints about a competitor, that was literally harassing me (called me 72 times in a week), and so I was a little worried, but no high sales pressure tactics here. I learned about the history of the company, how they make their product, and some of the core values of the business as whole. I was fairly sold before we even got to the price... then I saw the price and was willing to pay it on the spot. It was MORE then fair. I knew this was a project I could do myself over a weekend, but, the price of tools (they grind down the cement, seal cracks and all of that) would of been 3/4th the price of the project. I was blown away - almost so much that it felt to good to be true. To go above an beyond, Jeanne even helped me design and bring the entire project together. I'm not the best with color matching, so I appreciate her taking extra time to give me her input. I've attach photos of the before, right after install, and with the garage painted/put back together. Thank you again to everyone and the entire team at Checkmate. If you are wondering if you should pull the trigger - just do it. You will not regret it with this team. Tip: If you're worried about having to clean out the garage for the install, rent a Uhaul, throw it in your driveway and just move stuff a few feet for 2 days. We previously used Checkmate to resurface a cracked pool room, front lanai, and then to fix a previously failed Epoxy garage floor. Their team was extremely professional, on time, and had the job completed ahead of schedule. The areas never looked better. I was surprised by how easy it was to clean up the surface and this made me think “why not expand my Checkmate project onto the front sidewalk and 6 car driveway” which had severe cracks and staining. As anticipated the crew showed up, worked extremely hard and were careful not to disturb my wife’s plants and I’m happy to say the product turned out better than I thought it could have. Marty Genska29 June 2026Our new floors look amazing! Several months ago, we made the decision to finish both our 3-car garage and covered-lanai floors. After doing our research, and talking with multiple other companies, we decided on Checkmate Coatings, and here is why. We had scheduled our free estimate through their website which is where we met our sales representative, Jeanne. We were immediately impressed with her ‘no pressure’ demeaner and her total professionalism with measuring the garage and lanai areas. Being very naïve about what even to ask, she had made a few suggestions on floor borders and how to prepare the work areas. Back in the house, Jeanne talked about the company, how all installers are their employees, the process of the flooring application, colors, warranty and what to expect on the day of installation. Not once did she mention anything about ‘our company is better than so-and-so’, which was a pleasant surprise because we heard that several times with other estimates. She wrote up our estimate and explained that no money changed hands until the work was completed to our satisfaction; another red flag we noticed with others, with as much as 50% down at signing. Jeanne understood we were still in research mode and left saying simply ‘call me directly if you have any questions’. Once we were close to making our decision, we called Jeanne back for references and immediately had several folks we could visit to not only see the work but also talk about their experience; everything was positive. Other vendors wanted to just show us pictures. Once we signed the contract and had an install date, they even helped us with ideas on obtaining a storage container (we selected GoMini’s) so we could get prepared. On the day of installation, we met with Jonah and Parker, who turned out to be two of the nicest guys to work with. Everything was explained on what we should expect, doors were taped to prevent dust and the work began. They even posed to let us take pictures! We even had a visit from another Checkmate person, Kayla, who wanted to do a short interview with us on the process we took to get us here. Installation took most of the day, and once everything was completed and cleaned up, both Parker and Jonah took the time to explain when we could safely walk on the floors, park a car and when to start bring stuff back in. It wasn’t until the next day that we received our invoice which we happily paid. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience!+3Posted on Google

It came out excellent so good that we had them do our back patio in the same design and they did quality work. Why am I doing a review now because the materials they use were top notch! The floor is still holding up and I do maintenance on my cars and boat in the garage. I have 2 small chips at the edge of the entrance of the garage and guess what, they are coming to fix those because of the lifetime warranty! I reached out to Brenden and we're getting it taken care of. This is a great company and treat their customers right, like family. One more thing, our home builder came out one day and saw what we did to the garage floor and it knocked his socks off! She explained the entire process of installation and how their product is different from normal epoxy. We had an older driveway and walkway with some cracking so epoxy wouldn’t work. We set a date but had to change it which gave us more time to move stuff out of our carport and spare storage room. The crew arrived on time the first day and ground the concrete and filled the cracks. Then they applied the bottom coating and chips after vacuuming all the dust. Next day was removal of extra chips, clear coating and touch ups and final clean up. The install crew did a great job and thorough clean up for the project. Very pleased with the price per square foot also. Also no credit card surcharge like some companies. I originally sealed the floors 15 years ago using Home Depot epoxy paint, but they had become terribly chipped and looked awful. I also priced Shark, but that price was ridiculously higher. The Checkmate price was pretty reasonable and I couldn’t be happier with the work. Came on time, did it in a day, and the floors look amazing. I was especially impressed with the thoroughness of the concrete grinding and general attention to detail. They were highly competent and cleaned up well afterwards. I watched much of the process (new to me) and it was clear that the crew really cared about getting it right... borders, coverage, curing time, cleanup, all spot on. Part of how the finished job looks depends on how awful your garage may have looked before. In my case, the floor had oil, some paint, even some unknown substances. There was also some useless stuff, so it was emptied and freshly painted before they arrived. The Checkmate coating was the necessary finishing touch. As to price, they might not be the cheapest but I didn't want a cheap job that will discolor or stick to my tires instead of the concrete. They applied the Epoxy, spread the flakes and allowed to dry. They then applied a final coat and smoothed it out with a roller. Looks great! UPDATE 6/24/25 had them return for the lanai and as expected a great result. UPDATE: 10/09/25 the crew returned and this time did the front porch and sidewalk to the driveway. They weren't the highest or the lowest, but I liked their non-pushy attitude and based on discussion with their estimator Austin I believed that they would do the best quality job. Not using subcontractors but experienced employees, their workers showed up on time and were very respectful, diligent, and professional in their efficient style of work. Even Checkmate's website is different than other companies, highlighting a family owned and quality driven company. Any concerns were quickly dispelled by Austin who was very customer oriented and intent making sure I was happy with the quote, scheduling, project work and invoicing. This company also did not require a deposit upfront and also accepts credit cards for invoice payment. I would highly recommend them and I was very pleased with the final product.
